I’m starting to realise that putting my head in the sand may be good advice.

Yesterday, I got the same message in three different ways. Once was from the husband, who told me that he thinks I’m getting distracted from what I should be doing by getting too caught up in all the shenanigans in the US.

Once was from my brother, who told me:

I think I need to have a bit more of your paying attention to things, and you need to have a bit more of my putting my head in the sand and ignoring it all.

And once was from a reader, who made no bones about telling me:

You aren’t Hashem, you aren’t the Tzaddik. You don’t need to be worrying about all this stuff.

After some pondering, I see that they are all right.

====

I also see that my yetzer has been pulling a fast one on me, trying to tell me that I need to be ‘warning’ all these people, all these Jews, in chutz l’aretz, about what is about to happen over there.

It’s like World War II all over again!!! You have to tell them to get out!!!

Blah blah blah.

What, I’m the only person who can watch a Youtube channel and figure out what’s really going on behind the scenes in the US?

Of course not. Anyone who wants to can figure things out for themselves, there are so many non-Jewish journalists and bloggers and Youtubers now, who are doing a much better job than the mainstream media of putting the pieces together, and explaining what’s really going on.

I don’t need to waste any more of my time being a second-rate imitation of them.

I realized some more stuff:

I live in Jerusalem. I already took the ‘red pill’ a long time ago, and that’s why I moved out of London. There is nothing ‘practical’ I need to change about my life right now to be ready for Moshiach and geula. So paradoxically, I can actually stop obsessing about what’s happening in the wider world, and just get on with living my life and doing my own thing.

Maybe this sounds a little selfish. But I got the last couple of days that I’m effectively wasting my time banging on about this stuff, because most of the people it will directly affect don’t want to hear it, and certainly don’t want to believe it, anyway.

All my readers are grown ups who can think for themselves, and who are responsible for their own lives and neshamas. I am no cleverer than them, no more insightful than they are. All this ‘trying to predict the future stuff’ is just a big personal ga’ava trip.

And in the meantime, it’s also taking so much of my energy away from my own projects, like this new book I’m trying to write, BH, which is a personality typology based on Jewish sources. I want to go back to writing about life, pure and simple, on this blog. With some Rebbe Nachman stuff thrown in.

====

I know, I’ve said that before and I’ve got pulled off into other directions. It keeps happening, it may well happen again. But what I want, really, is to leave the geula stuff alone for a good long while, because the boulder is gathering steam and is rushing down the hill all by itself now, and it doesn’t need any more prodding from me.

I need to take a break from all that, and try to put something useful out into the world. Even though my books barely sell, writing them is what I really love to do.

So, this is where I’m holding in life:

If I have any more geula insights, I will stick them up on my weekly blog at ravberland.com – as that is the appropriate place for them. Otherwise, I’m half putting my head in the sand about world events, so I can go back – and go forward! – to writing about other things, especially how to handle our emotions and develop healthier relationships.

That’s plenty controversial enough, all by itself.

And at least for now, that what God is telling me I need to be focusing on.

Plagues of rats, swarms of locusts, killer hail and tar bubbling out of the payment – what is going on in the USA?

Last week, I was browsing the incredibly anti-semitic SOTT website – which I wouldn’t have to do, if any of our mainstream media actually printed any real information about what’s really going on in the world – when I noticed a few stories that made me think “the 10 Plagues of America.”

First, there were a couple of stories about how LA and Baltimore – and a few more of the US’s biggest cities, besides – are basically facing a plague of rats that is growing by the day, and that they can’t seem to get rid of.

Now, people will tell you that this rat plague is being caused by all the garbage lying around the streets – particularly in LA, which appears to be imploding under the weight of its own moral corruption – but honestly? I’m not so sure. More on that in a mo.

If LA’s garbage problem is the only reason for the rats, then why are so many other big cities in the US also having a plague of rats?

Something else, other than the garbage, has to be causing the problem.

And then that same day, there was also a story of how Las Vegas got shut down for a day because it was blanketed by a bizarrely massive swarm of locusts.

So many massive hailstone storms have hit the US the past couple of years that’s almost not news.

What? Hailstones the size of baseballs and grapefruit hit Colorado again? Yawn. What’s for supper?

But what with the earthquakes rocking the West coast…and the wildfires that have come back with a vengeance in Oregon near to where some recent quakes were located, and the 850,000 acres that are currently burning up in Siberia, and volcanoes mightily popping off all over the place – well, strange geological events are definitely on the rise all over the planet.

====

It would appear that the expected Grand Solar Minimum which I wrote a whole bunch of stuff about HERE has shown up, exactly on schedule.

Again, without rehashing everything I’ve written about this, suffice to say that Grand Solar Minimum occurs roughly every 210 years, and the bottom of the cycle can last for 20 years – or way, way more, if it sparks off another ice age.

Throughout that 20 year cycle, the intensity and frequency of the earthquakes and volcanoes increase all over the planet, and our weather first gets crazily erratic, and then starts to get much, much colder. We’re in the opening stages of the Grand Solar Minimum drama, and from here on it, it’s going to be quite the rollercoaster ride, weatherwise.

====

====

But I’m digressing. Let’s get back to the rats.

While I was pondering all these strange plagues of rodents and other creatures in the US, a reader sent me an email to say that bubonic plague has started back up in LA and Oregon. By itself, that’s not so shocking, because California has been steadily reporting isolated cases of plague for the last few decades. Or to put it another way,

Bubonic plague never actually stopped in California, just so far it’s been very well contained.

====

Here’s a few articles I found noting the problem, and blaming it on the corrupt politicians, the lack of waste disposal, California’s drought (which ended two years ago…) and the growing army of homeless people in America, that everyone likes to pretend doesn’t really exist:

There have been 42 cases of plague in California since 1970, and nine were fatal.

This is from a post from a few months’ ago:

“All that garbage [in LA] attracts rats, which “pose a public health risk,” an infectious disease specialist told the [NBC news] outlet, because the rodents can lead to the spread of salmonella and bubonic plague — not to mention fleas that have been infected with typhus.

At least nine people were reported ill with typhus in downtown Los Angeles between July and September [in 2018], with officials pointing to refuse and stray animals as potential catalysts, according to reports from October.”

====

While it’s tempting to say it’s all because LA is so corrupt and politically backwards that they can’t even arrange proper garbage collection for its residents, I personally think that’s a red-herring.

I think what might be going on there is far more interesting – and potentially, far more disturbing.

I haven’t written one of these long wild-side posts for a while, but it seems the time has come to take a deeper look at:

Black death pandemics, ‘Nibiru’ and the 700 year connection

====

A while ago,  I was reading Immanuel Velikovsky’s ‘Mankind in Amnesia’, where he basically set out that every 700 years or so, there’s some sort of cataclysmic ‘supernatural’ event that comes along with a whole bunch of weird ‘supernatural’ phenomena, and strange portents in the sky.

We are currently in the Hebrew year 5779. In the Hebrew year 1656, 4068 years ago, Noah’s flood occurred, with all its comet-inspired attendant supernatural miracles, and enormous deluge of water.

Some 789 years later, in the Hebrew Year of 2445, the Exodus occurred, with all its comet-inspired attendant supernatural miracles, fiery hail / meteor showers, plagues, earthquakes and geological disruption, including seas splitting and awesome electric storms as the Jewish people received the Torah on Mount Sinai.

Another 760 years’ later, in the Hebrew year of 3205, (known as – 687 BCE in the secular world), Sennecharib’s army of 185,000 men was destroyed on the eve of Passover, as they camped outside the Jerusalem City walls ready to invade and destroy the holy city. That same year, Sennacharib’s army had conquered the Kingdom of Israel, and dispersed the 10 tribes who lived there.

While Greek sources like Herodotus claimed that these soldiers had been killed by ‘the plague’, deeper Jewish sources suggest they were actually electrocuted to death instantaneously, as part of a comet-inspired supernatural miracle which also saw the sun reverse five hours as the earth’s axis and orbit were once again affected by ‘action at a distance’ from an enormous, planet sized celestial object.

====

In the Hebrew year of 3828, 623 years’ later, the Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans, and the Jewish people lost sovereignty in Israel. 52 years after that, in the Hebrew year of 3880, the Bar Kochba revolt ended, and the Jewish people were sent into exile.

There is nothing new under the sun

When all that stuff was happening in Israel, around 2,000 years ago, speculation about ‘end of days’ was at its peak within the Jewish nation. This was the time when all the Yoshki stuff started to gain a footing in the world, and it’s also the time of the Essenes and their Dead Sea Scrolls talking about teachers of darkness and the teacher of light. In 44 B.C.E., a brilliant comet was seen in the daytime sky for months after the murder of Julius Caesar in Rome – as recorded in many contemporary sources.

Big geo-political world changes always seem to go hand-in-hand with a renewed obsession with comets. From Parshat Balak, we know of Bilaam’s prophecy of the ‘Kochav Yaakov’, which will usher in time of the Moshiach, and the Zohar in Parshat Shemot 7b also talks of this:

====

The non-Jews of this time, just before the Second Temple was destroyed in 70 C.E, were also obsessed with portents and signs, due to the heavens being lit up by tons of comets and other unusual celestial activities.

A pagan philosopher / writer, called LUCRETIUS wrote about this time: “destruction awaits the heavens and the earth…within some short time you will see the worlds in commotion and the universe convulsed with shocks…the universe can collapse, borne down with a frightful-sounding crash.”

(If he was alive today, that guy would DEFINITELY have his own Youtube channel…)

At this time, the Sibylline Oracles were also written, shamelessly plagiarizing from Jewish traditions, to predict the forthcoming end of the world because:

“God, Whose dwelling is in the sky, shall roll up the heavens as a book is rolled, and the whole firmament in its varied forms shall fall on divine earth and on the sea; and then shall flow a ceaseless cataract of raging fire and shall burn land and sea, and the firmament of heaven and the stars and creation itself shall cast into one molten mass and dissolve. Then no more shall there be luminaries, twinkling orbs, no night, no dawn… no spring, no summer, no winter, not autumn.”

Compare that to this description of the end of days from Isaiah (Chapter 34) (and then figure out why they decided to rewrite it, a little):

4: And all the host of heaven shall melt, and the heavens shall be rolled like a scroll, and all their host shall wither as a leaf withers from a vine, and as a withered [fig] from a fig tree.

5: For My sword has become sated in the heaven. Behold, it shall descend upon Edom, and upon the nation with whom I contend, for judgment….

8. For it is a day of vengeance for the Lord, a year of retribution for the plea of Zion.

9. And its streams shall turn into pitch and its dust into sulfur, and its land shall become burning pitch.

10. By night and by day, it shall not be extinguished; its smoke shall ascend forever and ever; from generation to generation it shall be waste, to eternity, no one passing through it.

The proto-xtians also got in on the ‘end of days’ act (does any of this sound familiar to anyone, btw?) and based their book of Revelations on the Sybylline Oracles, which in turn was plagiarized from the deeper Jewish sources, including the book of Isaiah.

“So highly regarded were the Sibyl’s prophecies that the fourth century church usurped her second book, inserted narratives that dealt with Christian characters,and then said it was a divine revelation given to the apostle John by Jesus Christ from Heaven, and added it to their New Testament.

Church records state that Cerinthus ‘rewrote’ the original Sibyl’s prophecies to create a falsified version, that was adjusted again in the fourth century, when it was added to the New Testament. The early church was so concerned that the general populace would learn that its Book of Revelation was a forgery, that in 405 CE the Bishop of Rome ordered the Roman general Flavius Stilicho to burn as many copies of the Sibylline Books as he could find.”

====

Here’s what’s so interesting, from a Jewish perspective: each time Moshiach could have or nearly did come, it was attended by unusual comets, political chaos and unusual geophysical occurrences.

When Noah left the ark, we’re told he could have rectified the whole of creation and ushered in redemption right there and then – but he stuffed it up by getting drunk. And so, we carried on another 700-odd years until the time of the Exodus.

Again, Am Yisrael could have ushered in redemption after they accepted the Torah at Mount Sinai – but again, they stuffed it up, by building a golden calf. The next ‘et ratzon’ for Moshiach to come occurred around another 700 years later.

That’s when King Hezekiah could have been the Moshiach, and the Assyrian invader Sennacherib could have been Gog and Magog –  except Hezekiah wasn’t appropriately grateful for the miracle that God had done for him (and us…) by saving Jerusalem. The Talmud (in Sanhedrin 94a) says that:

The reason Chizkiyahu was not the Mashiach is that he didn’t sing after Hashem did miracles for him.

And so geula was pushed off for around another 700 years.

====

At that stage, Rabbi Akiva (incorrectly…) believed that the Jewish rebel Bar Kochva was the Moshiach – but he wasn’t, in the end. Which just goes to show that even a massive Torah personality and Gadol HaDor can be wrong, when it comes to making predictions about who Moshiach might actually be.

The Second Temple was destroyed, the Jews were banished from their land, the Shechina went into exile – and God’s face was hidden from the world.

Yet 2,000 years ago, all the peoples of the world, Jewish or not, could still ‘feel’ that something huge was going on, that was somehow connected to the end of days.

I know, what’s all this got to do with the black plague in LA? Patience, we’re getting there.

====

Another 700 years’ later, in 541-2 C.E., we get to a time when the Western Roman Empire finally ended.

And the nail in its coffin was a terrible outbreak of an unusually virulent, mysterious ‘plague’ that was centered around the Byzantine Empire’s capital, in Constantinople. That pandemic was called Justinian’s Plague, and it killed a quarter of the Empire’s citizens.

Five years after that plague struck, Constantinople was almost totally razed by the biggest earthquake it experienced in the last 2,000 years. It’s walls were severely damaged, and that made it a cake-walk for the Huns to conquer Constantinople, and put an end to the tottering Roman Empire crumbled.

After this, the so-called ‘dark ages’ began in Europe.

====

It’s roughly 700 years’ after Justinian’s plague, and now we’re in the 14th century.

Once again, there are strange portents and omens in the skies (i.e. comets and meteors), strange geological phenomena and earthquakes, reports of death-dealing ‘miasmas’ rising from the ground, and water sources being poisoned.

While modern science and modern history scoffs at these descriptions as being the product of superstition and ignorance, it sounds to me like a very good description of the processes we are now seeing going on around us. The ‘miasma’ could well be an unscientific medieval description of natural methane gas rising up from the ground.

Well water – water that is raised from deep underground – would also be more susceptible to being affected by volcanic gas and if there was more ‘heat’ happening underground, to speed up the process of organisms multiplying in still or stagnant water.

Europe’s ‘Black Death’ pandemic is traditionally blamed on sailors entering the Italian port of Sicily in October, 1347. The story goes they were carrying rats aboard that spread the plague all over Italy and then on across the continent.

Very interestingly, Italy was hit with a massive earthquake in 1348:

“The 1348 Friuli earthquake, centered in the South Alpine region of Friuli, was felt across Europe on 25 January. The quake hit in the same year that the Great Plague ravaged Italy. According to contemporary sources, it caused considerable damage to structures; churches and houses collapsed, villages were destroyed and foul odors emanated from the earth.”

Medieval people connected the Black Death to the earthquakes, but didn’t go beyond explaining them both as acts of God. (If only we modern humans had their degree of perception…)

Also very interestingly, Sicily is one of the most volcanically-active areas on the planet, home to Mount Etna (which is still erupting today), and also home to Vulcano and Stromboli – after which the field of volcanology is named.

====

LEPTOSPIROSIS AND PNEUMONIC PLAGUE

Last Summer in Israel, the stagnant water pools in the Golan – Israel’s volcanic region, with 63 volcanoes being officially acknowledged by geologists –  had a massive problem with the leptospirosis bacteria that is very similar to yersina pestis.

I don’t want to throw too many curve balls at you at once, but here’s an excerpt from a scientific journal from 2017 that noticed that killer pneumonic plagues seem to be connected to both the yersina pestis bacterian, and leptospirosis:

“Conditions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo provide an ideal environment for leptospirosis and plague, both of which can cause severe pulmonary manifestations. In December 2004, an outbreak of lethal pneumonia occurred in a local mining camp, affecting 130 persons and killing 57 of them. Clinical signs, fast disease spread, and initial laboratory investigations suggested pneumonic plague….

Twenty-nine of the 54 patients or convalescents tested for leptospirosis were seropositive. Two cases showed a confirmed infection for both plague and leptospirosis. While evidence supports the plague nature of this outbreak, the results suggest that some of the suspected plague cases might be due to leptospirosis. In any case, this diagnosis will have to be evoked in the future if a similar outbreak occurs in this region.”

====

OK, let’s get back to the 14th century, and the Black Death.

Here’s an excerpt from Historical Tales, by Charles Morris:

“The middle of the fourteenth century was a period of extraordinary terror and disaster to Europe. Numerous portents, which sadly frightened the people, were followed by a pestilence which threatened to turn the continent into an unpeopled wilderness.”

(Point to note: ‘pestilence’ is often used interchangeably with ‘plague’ in many historical accounts. It refers to some unidentified ‘disease’ that kills an awful lot of people in a very short amount of time.)

Morris’s account then goes on to list the following:

  • 1337 CE – a great comet appears in the heavens
  • 1337-40 CE – three years of terrible famine, caused by never-ending swarms of locusts
  • 1348 CE – an enormous earthquake strikes Europe, devastating large parts of Cyprus, Greece, Italy and the Alpine valleys, together with fiery meteors and a ‘gigantic pillar of flame’ that’s seen by hundreds of people descending on the Pope’s palace in Avignon.
  • 1348-1349 CE – The black death began in Europe, killing between a third and a half of the inhabitants. (It broke out again in 1361-62 and then for a third time in 1369).
  • 1356 CE – another massive earthquake destroys the whole of Basel

Here’s a few more interesting things to note:

Morris recounts that:

“The disease appears to have been a very malignant type of what is known as the plague, a form of pestilence which has several times returned, though never with such virulence as on that occasion.”

He also notes that:

“In many localities, the hatred of the Jews by the people led to frightful excesses of persecution against them, they being accused of their enemies of poisoning the wells. From Berne, where the city councils gave orders for the massacre, it spread over the whole of Switzerland and Germany, many thousands being murdered….”

Shortly after all this killing of innocent Jews occurred, the Swiss city of Basel got destroyed by a massive earthquake.

====

The crusades had happened a century before all this.

God had clearly tried to wake the Jewish people up to make some serious teshuva, preceding another golden occasion for Moshiach and geula to begin, but again we dropped the ball, and the supernatural ‘change’ that came to the world was one of wholescale death and destruction instead.

Velikovsky, writing 50 years ago, said:

“If we project this periodicity of [comet inspired / end of days] frenzy, occurring at intervals of approximately seven hundred years, into the future, will the twenty-first century mark another epoch of terror and frenzy?”

====

I know, I know. You want to know about how all this is connected to LA’s rats and bubonic plague.

Patience, we’re getting there.

‘Space weather’ – the solar wind and cosmic rays – directly affects human health, including our immune systems. Space weather also affects things like the rate that bacteria and other organisms mutate and reproduce.

It seems to me that some comet-induced changes to the earth’s electromagnetic atmosphere probably had something to do with the regular ‘plague’ – which has always been present, just as it’s still with us today, even in ‘civilised’ California – morphing into ‘Justinian’s plague’, and then the black death pandemic, around 700 and 1400 years ago, respectively.

Because even now, the scientists don’t really know why yestis persina, as it’s called, morphed from the bog-standard bubonic plague into such an awful pandemic. Or even, whether yestis persina was really the culprit.

Two scientists released a book in 2001 where they set out a very compelling argument for how the ‘Black Death’ can’t have been spread via rats and fleas – which meant something else was responsible for creating the pandemic, and causing it to spread so fast:

“First of all, bubonic plague is intimately associated with rodents and the fleas they carry. But the Black Death’s pattern of spread doesn’t fit a rat and flea-borne disease. It raced across the Alps and through northern Europe at temperatures too cold for fleas to hatch, and swept from Marseilles to Paris at four kilometres a day – -far faster than a rat could travel.

Moreover, the rats necessary to spread the disease simply were not there. The only rat in Europe in the Middle Ages was the black rat, Rattus rattus, which stays close to human habitation. Yet the Black Death jumped across great tracts of open country-up to 300 kilometres between towns in France-in only a few days with no intermediate outbreaks. “Iceland had no rats at all,” notes Duncan, “but the Black Death was reported there too.”

====

What there WAS, however, was a lot of reports of urban centres in Europe being totally over-run by rats, shortly before the killer plague began.

Now, are you starting to see what I’m getting at?

And the same thing happened in San Francisco in 1904, when they had a massive rat problem, and a bubonic plague problem a couple of years before the 1906 earthquake hit and devastated the city.

This comes from a piece in the NY Times in May, 2019 called ‘Rats are Taking Over NYC’:

[T]he onslaught of rats extends beyond New York: Cities such as Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles are also confronting outbreaks.

“Everywhere I go, rat populations are up,” said Robert Corrigan, a research scientist in New York who estimates that their numbers may have increased by as much as 15 to 25 percent in some cities.

The rodents are not only a nuisance and a blight on the quality of life, but also a health risk. A bacterial infection spread by rat urine, leptospirosis, killed a Bronx resident in 2017.

====

Let’s take a breath, and ask the question:

Why are all these rats coming out of hiding from their nests and tunnels underground in the US?

Like all rodents, rats prefer dark places to sunlit ones. And even if there is a ton of garbage lying around, they would just come and scavenge it at night, before returning to their underground nests.

But now, apparently, something is forcing them up and out of their underground burrows.

If you ask me, it’s rising methane, rising heat, something do with the magma in the US coming much closer to the surface. A few weeks’ ago, before the two large earthquakes struck California, there were a lot of reports of boiling tar literally spilling out across pavements in the La Brea area of Los Angeles.

Does that sound normal to you?

[WARNING: This video is not shmirat eynayim friendly.]

====

It’s a long post, I know, so let’s try to sum things up neatly, to give you the take-away points.

  • Every 700 years, there seems to be some massive plague pandemic that engulfs humanity.
  • This ‘plague’ or pestilence is usually accompanied by a lot of celestial ‘portents’, i.e. comets, meteors and other unusual disturbances in the Heavens.
  • It’s also accompanied by freak geological events, unusual swarms of rodents and other creatures, earthquakes, fires, ‘poisoned water’ and poisonous ‘miasmas’, or gas clouds, rising from the earth.
  • Many of these pandemics have been historically associated with plagues of rats being seen in urban centres shortly before they began.
  • Yersina pestis – the bacteria thought to be responsible for the black death – is always with us. It’s unclear whether yersina pestis was actually responsible for the mass pandemics of the past, or whether things like the Black Death were caused by something more like an ebola virus..
  • Rats are pouring out of the ground all over America.
  • Plague cases are on the rise in California.
  • We are approximately 700 years after the ‘great plague’ decimated Europe in the 14th
  • This seems to be another of Hashem’s et ratzon’s for Moshiach and Geula.
  • Hopefully, we won’t drop the ball this time and see another massive spike in violent anti-semitism / Jews being blamed for everything.

We certainly live in interesting times.

Before Moshiach shows up, it says the troubles will pile up non-stop.

The last few months, I don’t think I’ve had a single night of peaceful, unbroken sleep. Between the teenagers, the heat (I don’t have air-conditioning) and the endless mosquitoes, every single night has seen me wake up multiple times.

And this has been going on since November. And really, I can’t even blame the teenagers because even on the nights that they’ve both been in school, I still have been sleeping pretty badly.

All this means that I am plodding through life like a half-dazed zombie at the moment. There are some days I’m so tired, I can’t even think about what to make for supper, let alone actually go and buy the stuff. It’s a problem.

I feel I can’t really ‘interact’ at more than a basic level with anyone right now, because I’m totally whacked out and I just don’t have the energy to do it. And then, there’s the matter of the book.

====

I was actually just finishing up a piece of creative non-fiction five months ago, that I’d been working on with a developmental editor, and it was coming along very nicely. Literally as I got to the last page of that, One in a Generation Volume II suddenly came back on to the radar as a ‘live’ project, and I spent the 6 weeks before Pesach working at the speed of light to get that book out before Seder night.

I don’t know why there was such a mad rush, exactly, but I had the sense that it was very important spiritually to get that book ‘out there’, even though so few people have actually bought it or read it.

Then it was Pesach, which I had to sort out in a week as I had so little time beforehand because I’d been working on One in a Generation, and like all of us, I found preparing for the festival pretty exhausting. Over chol hamoed, I was so whacked out that mostly all I did was stay home, which is pretty unusual for me.

Time to slow down a bit, paint some more, do things at a quieter pace, I told my husband back then, as he nodded sagely.

That’s not exactly what happened.

====

Post-Pesach, Shuvu Banim decided that they’d like to make something of a PR push around the book.

They found a professional who was happy to volunteer their services, so that more people would have a chance of hearing the truth about the huge miscarriage of justice around Rabbi Berland. So, I spent the month after Pesach putting together one PR proposal after another, one website after another, and having regular meetings to try to get One in a Generation to take off, somehow.

So much effort. So much work. So little to really show for it.

====

====

This is how the PR guy recently summed up our campaign, in an email he sent me about all the problems he was having with the newswires.

“They think Rav Merav didn’t say his quote, that we faked it. But they don’t want to speak with him and then they want him to have an email with an official domain of a business or a Shuvu Banim email to then go through some verification process. However the strength of his quote is the fact he is an independent well known rabbi and not part of Shuvu Banim. We followed their process without giving him a Shuvu email and they said it was not good enough…
They also said a couple lines from your quote must be removed because it is against the Israeli court ruling… They also said we could not link to your video because of the same.  They didn’t want the parts saying there was fake evidence, the accusations were false, and that this was like Yosef from 3,000 years ago.  They got very nasty on the phone…
Most opposition I ever got in 15 years and that includes working for a company accused of compromising US national security and another accused of causing cancer!”
====

Go back and read that again, because I want you to really grasp how much censorship of information is going on in the world generally, and about Rabbi Berland specifically. The media is totally manipulating the public to only think what they want us all to think, and to suppress any facts that goes against their narrative.

In the end, we had to shoot a video of Rabbi Meirav with totally toned-down quotes, just so the newswire would agree to even cover it. More ‘troubles’….

====

So then, we got up to Shavuot and I was feeling mega exhausted.

I asked my husband if we could go to Uman for the chag, just us two. He agreed, we went – and then I discovered that the kever is totally closed to women over Shavuot, so I couldn’t get in. More ‘troubles’…

Instead, I went to Gan Sofia, and spent isru chag lying under some massive trees on an island in the middle of the main lake there. It was bliss. It was probably the first time I’ve ever chilled out in Uman, and I felt like Rabbenu was giving me a massive dose of ‘relaxation’ to counter-balance all the stress and lack of sleep of recent months.

The night we flew out, we’d also swung past Hevron for an hour, to join in Rabbi Berland’s prayer gathering, which he’d called after we’d already booked our tickets to the Ukraine. Rabbi Berland promised: Everyone who comes won’t have a minute more of suffering!

Who could resist a deal like that?

So now we get to the crux of this post.

The day after I got back from Uman, I answered an ad looking for a new service that was looking for books to launch as part of a pilot program that was heavily discounted from what they’d charge once they’d got it all figured out.

I figured I’d try my luck, so I sent a two line email describing a book that was ‘almost finished’, that maybe would fit their program. In reality, I hadn’t written it yet, I just had the title, but I was so sure they wouldn’t respond.

Long story short: they took the book.

Which means I’ve spent the last few weeks furiously typing like a banshee again, trying to get the draft done to something at least approaching the time scale. It’s nearly done now, but in the meantime I’ve been totally neglecting my household and family the last month, AGAIN, and I know that’s not good, but what could I do, really?

The ‘troubles’ pile up like one wave after another, before one trouble is over, another begins…

====

Yesterday night, after another day’s hard typing, I staggered off to bed at 10pm to see if I could try and get a good night sleep.

Just as I was dozing off, the ubiquitous mosquito showed up, and started dive-bombing my face.

This usually occurs in the five minutes just before I’m about to drop off, and I can get so agitated trying to find the mosquito zapper to electrocute it that all my adrenalin starts pumping, and then it takes me hours and hours to calm down enough to get back to sleep.

Yesterday, I was so tired, I couldn’t be bothered fighting that thing.

Let it bite me, let it suck my blood. I’m past caring.

I fell asleep – and an hour later, I woke up again because my husband had come home, and had just switched on the bedside light to try and track down the mosquito. He’s a great guy, but he’s got this habit of shining that spotlight straight in my face in the middle of the night, like he’s practicing to join a Mexican torture gang.

I squinted at him standing there with the mosquito zapper, looking apologetic but determined, and I wondered to myself:

God, are You out to get me? Because I have to tell you, it’s really starting to feel that way.

====

I was too tired to take it further yesterday night, but this morning, I think I finally figured out what’s going on.

It says before Moshiach comes, the troubles will come so thick and fast that before one ‘problem’ is even over, the next one starts up. I know so many people are going through the ringer at the moment, with awful, massive problems hitting them thick and fast.

And in my house?

The ‘problems’ are my books, which are taking up so much headspace and energy without really giving a heck of a lot back, and the ‘troubles’ are the mosquitos, that hide out in my room just waiting for me to go to sleep.

But this morning, I realized just how lucky I am to have troubles like these.

Yes, on one level I’m having difficulties coping with the daily challenge of not getting enough sleep, but I’m not really suffering from all this, even though it’s challenging.

After Hevron, it seems ‘the troubles’ got sweetened.

But let’s be clear, I’m still looking forward to the time when I get have a good night’s sleep again, and not walk through life like a spaced-out zombie, and have a bit of time to paint and to actually interact with people.

But at least until Tu B’Av, it seems that just ain’t going to happen.

The last few days I’ve been pondering: am I really writing for me, or am I really trying to write for God?

One of my readers emailed me after the last post to tell me that she hopes I’m going to win the argument with my husband, as she’s missing my ‘current affairs’ insights.

So, I asked him at breakfast today:

“Would it be OK if I don’t make any comment about things, but I just stick up some links and let people go and figure it all out by themselves, if they can? I mean, it’s all out there, it’s all public knowledge, just it’s not being connected properly….”

He shook his head.

“I don’t want them taking your website down, or hacking the computer, or all the other things they do to harass people. You have too many other important jobs to do on your site.”

You know what? I didn’t argue with him.

Because deep down, I know he’s right.

Who am I really blogging for, me or God?

The last few months, I’ve been thinking more and more about how all these so-called ‘geula blogs’ are really just an exercise in feeding the gullible public information about what will be. Most of them got their start by translating the messages from the autistics into English, or by cobbling together bits of stuff from the Torah Codes and other self-styled ‘seers’ to come up with what were essentially predictions for the future.

But it’s totally forbidden for Jews to try to ‘predict’ the future, unless we’re bona fide prophets being sent to the people with a message to deliver on behalf of Hashem. We aren’t goyish soothsayers, looking for signs and omens so we can try to game the system with insider information.

Our future has always and only depended on us making some real teshuva.

I think that’s how all the stuff with the autistics got so bent out of shape, in the geula blogosphere. For as long as the information was being used to get us to make some real teshuva, and to get us to stop being such phoney, fake Jews, and to really understand that Jews need to live in Israel, and that we need to work on our bad middot, it was actually very useful.

When me and my husband read the book Galia back in London, it had a lot to do with our decision to make aliya, because it gave us a totally different perspective about what was going on in the world, and how we’d need to change our lives if we really wanted to be a part of the more God-fearing, Moshiach-ready Jewish people.

But sadly, most people haven’t reacted like that, at least, not the English speakers that I know.

====

Other people loved the autistics’ messages for very different reasons. For some, it gave them the reflected aura of being some sort of ‘prophet’, who could pretend to have more wisdom and insight than others. I also got sucked into that for a while, especially around the banking collapse in 2008, when all the scary predictions appeared to be materializing before my eyes.

Until they got sweetened by our true tzaddikim, especially by Rabbi Berland

Other people loved the autistics because they felt all their messages about the Erev Rav gave them carte blanche to go around pointing the finger at everyone else. That was never the point.

The point was for us to identify those bad, ‘Erev Rav’ traits inside ourselves, and to work on uprooting them.

That work requires some humility. It requires a lot of honesty. It needs a lot of prayer and broken-hearted pleading for God to please help us act nicer to other people, and to work on understanding ourselves more.

How many of us really took that message to heart, in the geula blogosphere?

I kept reading more and more drivel about everyone else….being eradicated from the world, and having disgusting middot, and acting like Erev Rav, and all the rest. But what about us? What about all the teshuva that we ourselves needed to make?

Where was all the stuff about how all these geula bloggers, and the people who read and comment on their blogs, were actually trying to make some real teshuva in their own lives?

Totally absent.

====

After mulling this over for a few years already, I think a lot of the problem comes down to the fact that practically every geula blogger and commentator out there is anonymous.

They can tell you that they’re God-fearing, they can tell you who their rabbi is (or isn’t…) they can tell you what they really believe blahdie blahdie blah.

But because they are totally anonymous, there is absolutely no way of checking these people out, independently. Once there’s a name to ground someone into reality, it’s much easier to go and see if all their pious talk and holier-than-thou stuff is matched by an equally ‘holy’ personal life, or whether you’re actually dealing with a lunatic whose private life is a trainwreck.

I know that I can’t write a thing without it having to stand up to reality in ‘the real world’.

I have a real name, I have a real family. Anyone could talk to my kids and my husband and find out in a split second that I’m a recovering psycho. Being real obliges me to own up to my struggles and my issues, because if you come across me in real life while I’m still trying to be a pseudo-pious-pretend-geula-blog-persona, you’re going to call me out on my hypocrisy very, very fast.

But there just isn’t that same accountability with so many of the other people online who have been setting the tone of the debate around geula and moshiach for the last two decades.

How would it change things, if you knew someone was a ‘secret mesichist’, who hates the idea of anyone being the Moshiach other than their own (dead…) leader? How would it change things if you knew someone had a really bad relationship with every single one of the family members? How would it change things, if you knew someone had a pot habit, or a gambling problem, or a really horrible, nasty temper?

Would you still take what they have to say so seriously? Would you still praise them for being so wise and all-knowing? Would you still relate to their ‘pretend perfect’ online persona so respectfully? Would you still think they are far more interested in blogging for God than just blogging in order to inflate their own egos?

I wonder.

====

Then there were all the people who loved all the autistics and ‘predicting the future’ stuff because of the Nibiru buzz.

For two whole years, we all sat entranced by the Youtube prophets and ‘geula watchers’ who were going on…and on…and on… about the dark star, the killer planet, the brown dwarf, the dreaded Nibiru.

Do I think something like that is out there? Yes, probably. It’s part of God’s much bigger plan for our planet, and it will play whatever role it’s meant to, in getting us to the next stage of things.

But why do I not really care so much about NIBIRUUUUUU, even if it does exist?

Because I’m trying to keep my focus on working on myself, identifying my issues and flaws, and trying to acknowledge and work on the stuff that I really need to work on, regardless of whether some massive comet comes close to the earth and causes a tidal wave of energy to ripple through the earth’s crust.

Right now, I’m working on trying to not shout the heck out of my teenage kids, when they come home really late too many nights in a row. That’s not easy (for me…) It’s showing me I have a lot of patience to learn, still, a lot of anger to control.

All that stuff has absolutely nothing to do with trying to predict the future, and trying to create a ‘buzz’ around current events that I can orchestrate into some massive, and massively pointless discussion (at best…) in my comments section.

====

If that was the only problem with our decades’ long obsession with trying to ‘predict the future’, and trying to skim off the superficial excitement about ‘geula happening’ while ducking the hard work of really getting to grips with our own bad middot and moving to the Holy Land, maybe it still wouldn’t be so bad.

But ever since those selfsame autistics that everyone just loved, when all they were doing was just talking about the Erev Rav, Illuminati and Nibiru, started coming out with clearer and clearer messages identifying Rabbi Berland as the hezkat Moshiach of our generation – well, things have gotten very interesting, from a psychological perspective. It’s got way, way clearer who is doing stuff for God (or trying to…) and who isn’t.

One blogger has spent the last 15 years making her name off the back of peddling autistic ‘prophecies’ and blasting 14.99999999 million Jews as being ‘fakers’ we could all turn our backs on and condemn to permanent hell and damnation. As soon as the autistics suggested the Rav could be Moshiach – she put up a notice on her blog explaining she no longer ‘endorsed’ them.

The irony is, that the autistics said whoever can’t accept Rabbi Berland could be Moshiach is an ‘Erev Rav’.

(Personally, I’m not convinced they’re right, just to make this even more confusing than it already is.)

====

This blogger happens to be an excellent writer, and a really good researcher.

When I was looking into all the anusim stuff the last couple of weeks, I wondered a little wistfully why this person couldn’t bend her fearless (anonymous…) blogging abilities to really trying to help out her fellow Jews who are suffering so much in South America, instead of wasting so much time and energy on pointless rants.

How different this could all look, if more of the bloggers out there stopped stroking their own egos and started thinking about how to better serve Hashem, with their writing.

Who cares, really, what some militant guy with a beard and an obsession with machine guns said 20 years ago? There are real, live Jews that need your help! Go and put your money where your mouth is, o anonymous blogger, and go and stand up to the real baddies out there. Go and do something useful with your blog, instead of just stirring trouble and hatred all the time.

And I guess, that’s what I really want to say to all the geula bloggers out there, who pretend not to read my stuff, but then make pointed comments about me being delusional etc.

God gave you your blog to spread some light in the world, and you aren’t doing the job.

For years, you’ve been milking the geula process for all that it’s worth, so you can build a big audience and feel like a ‘someone’. And now, when we’re really coming down to the wire, and when people really need to be encouraged to scrub the scales from their eyes and to make some real teshuva – you are still doing your best to keep us all stuck back there, in the ‘make believe world’ comfort zone.

You don’t need to make aliya, not at all! The Beit HaMikdash is going to be rebuilt in America!

You don’t need to make some real teshuva, not at all! Carry on leaving poisonous comments about the Gadol HaDor, and having disrespectful discussions about him online, that’s guaranteed the best way to get geula and Moshiach the sweet way!

You don’t need to stop treating other people badly – not at all! – to get to the end safely. Just carry on watching your Netflix, spending hours gossiping on Facebook, and peddling half-truth headlines and pseudo-frum Youtube rabbis as the REAL purveyors of Torah and truth!

Business as usual! (With a side-helping of geula).

====

But that’s not what our REAL rabbis are saying. Not at all.

A few days ago, I saw a bizarre story in the Yeshiva World News (which I don’t read, btw, because it’s full of fake news and lashon hara, but which came up in a Google Search I was doing for something.)

It said this:

“United States President Donald Trump reportedly sent two anonymous Jewish colleagues to meet with HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita. According to a BeChadrei Chareidim report, they told the Gadol Hador they are friends of the US president, sending Mr. Trump’s personal regards.

Rav Kanievsky reportedly asked what they wanted, and they said the US president was interested in knowing when Moshiach will arrive.

“The weekly Torah sheet “Divrei Siach”, which contains Rav Kanievsky’s Torah, reports on the visit, explaining Rav Kanievsky was not overly interested when the two sent the president’s regards, and asked if they wanedt anything else.

“When they asked about Moshiach’s arrival, Rav Kanievsky reportedly asked “What have you done to hasten Moshiach’s arrival? Have you moved to Israel?” When they responded negatively, Rav Kanievsky added,

“Then move to Israel and Moshiach will soon arrive”.

====

Assuming the story is true (always a big ‘if’…) let’s rewrite the headline to describe what Rav Kanievsky apparently really told his illustrious Jewish visitors from America:

If you really want to bring the Moshiach, you should move to Israel.

As usual, Rav Kanievsky pierced straight to the heart of the problem:

If you REALLY want to be part of the geula, if you REALLY want Moshiach to come, you should be in Israel. You should be LIVING that reality, and not just endlessly discussing it.

Sigh.

Just before Rosh Hashana, I deleted my blog after a very unpleasant email interaction with one of these ‘geula bloggers’. For 4 months, I stayed offline. I told God then, God, I want to give You what You want. Please show me what You want me to do with myself, and how I can use my writing to best serve You.

The message I got back consistently, every single time, was to tell more people about Rabbi Eliezer Berland, and to help him any way I can.

That’s the only reason I started this blog back up.

Today, I’m still asking God for guidance, and today, I’m still getting that message back loud and clear. That’s why I really don’t care if people don’t like me, or if they diss me for talking about this stuff, of if they go on the attack.

I’m trying to use this blog for the only reason God created it, namely to put the spotlight on the true Tzaddikim of the generation, and on our own great need to make a lot of teshuva and off myself, and my own stupid ideas about things.

Because really, what do I know?

Even if I do think that I have so very much information I could share with you about what’s really going on right now, so what? Let’s say I did set it all down, what good would that do? How would it really change your life?

Is anyone out there making aliya, because of what they read on this blog? Is anyone really making teshuva? Is anyone getting closer to God and the true tzaddikim? I honestly don’t know.

But that’s the only real measure of ‘success’ that counts.

So at least for now, the husband has won.

Because at some point, we have to stop treating the geula like some sort of superficial and ultimately meaningless debate or ‘prediction process’, and we have to actually start living it ourselves.

Is it just me, or are most people getting dumb and dumber by the day?

I’m currently writing another book (!) on stress, and its damaging effects on the brain, so I can tell you categorically that most people today seem to have some form of stress-induced brain damage, that’s causing them to act even more dumb and dumber over time.

People just can’t assimilate new information, they can’t change their minds. They have fixed opinions and they’re unable to see anyone else’s point of view. Depending on what their dominant stress response is, they react to any discomfort socially by going on the attack (FIGHT), running away (FLIGHT), totally ignoring ‘the issue’ (FREEZE), or keeping things so superficially ‘fake nice’ (FLATTER) there’s simply no room for deep thought, or a deep exchange of ideas.

All this happens when people have stress-induced brain damage – and all this is happening in spades all around us, right now. And the more ‘damaged’ the person is, emotionally, the harder they find it to engage with different ideas, new ways of doing things.

Sometimes, I wonder what would happen if the Prophet Daniel had given over some of his wisdom to our generation.

====

MENE MENE, TEKEL UPHARSIN

“It can’t be a real prophecy, I don’t understand it,” sniffed Dumb.

“Never mind that!!” Barked Dumber. “Only xtians talk in riddles like this! That message can’t be from God, because He always expresses Himself very clearly. I don’t think this Daniel guy is even a Jew!!”

And so it continued.

When the Prophet Zechariah would stand up to give over his message for the Jewish people, Dumb and Dumber stood there in the front row, clutching their copies of the Ramchal and heckling him.

Zechariah Chapter 3:

“Hear now, O Yehoshua the High Priest, you and your companions that sit before you; for they are men that are a sign; for, behold, I will bring forth My servant the Shoot.

For behold, the stone that I have laid before Yehoshua; there are seven facets upon one stone; behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, said the Lord of Hosts: And I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.”

‘Rubbish!!!’ Yelled out Dumb.

‘Ridiculous mumbo-jumbo!!!’ Echoed Dumber. ‘If you were a REAL prophet, you’d make this stuff easy to understand, like the Rambam did, and not just lead the masses on with all this xtian-sounding clap trap!’

====

But the person they derided the most was Ezekiel (1:25-7):

“And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.

And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

And I saw as the color of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.”

‘Is the man on drugs?’ Dumb wanted to know.

‘I think it’s worse than that’, muttered Dumber. ‘Only a XTIAN would try to give the likeness of an appearance to God!!! He’s obviously a false prophet, a false messiah! No wonder he keeps going on and on about the Temple being rebuilt and how it’s all going to look in the future!!! The Rambam would NEVER say something like that!!!’

Who could argue with such erudite YouTube scholars as these?

I tell you what else is very troubling, continued Dumb. This Ezekiel figure is playing with fire. He’s egging on the masses that we’re going to have a rebuilt Temple, and that the Moshiach is going to come. But he’s totally crazy! Look, he’s spent a whole year lying on his side on the pavement, baking his bread over cow dung!! Who does something like that?! Certainly no real Rabbi I’ve ever heard of!

He’s just a delusional charlatan, agreed Dumber. I mean, all those prophecies about the Temple, and did any of them ever happen? He’s just beguiling people with riddles, and filling their heads with nonsense about ‘bones’ coming back to life. You just don’t find reputable Jewish leaders doing things like that. I think he’s a hare krishna.

====

Just then, Dumbest showed up, and all three of them repaired to the nearest pub, to continue their high-level discussion of esoteric Torah principles over a pint of Guinness and a packet of cheese and onion crisps.

Dumbest, what do you think about all these gobbledy-gook ‘pronouncements’ from Ezekiel? Is he a true leader of the Jews, or a false one?

Dumbest put his pint down for a moment (I mean, this was really important, after all!) and after thinking for exactly 5.37 seconds, made his pronouncement:

One thing I know for sure, is that the Mashiach will not speak in riddles which people can interpret any number of ways. Mashiach is coming to make things clearer to us, and erase our doubts, not cause confusion.

Dumb pumped his fist into the air.

Yesss! I knew that guy was a faker!

Someone as clever as Dumbest was never going to make a mistake about something this important….

But Dumber had to ask:

Hey, Dumbest, don’t mind, but can I ask you for your source for that statement?

Sure, Dumbest responded. He looked all around him conspiratorially, then motioned the other two YouTube Sages closer:

My i-Phone has nevua!

Dumb and Dumber were impressed. How could they not be? This is how Jews were really meant to discuss Torah!

====

We’re all Dumb and Dumber today, whether or not we admit it. The ikker is just to have a tad of humility, and to be honest that we have no idea what to really think about anything. That’s really the only smart thing to do at the moment.

That’s also the point I was trying to make HERE:

The way out of this morass, all this ‘feeling confused’ stuff, is just to be honest, and to admit that really, we have no idea what’s going on, or what to think about it all.

It comes back to that whole ‘being real’ idea I discussed over HERE, where it seemed to me that the people who are pretending to be what they’re not seem to be the ones most in danger of turning against the Rav, God forbid, or pinging away in disgust.

HOW COULD THE RAV SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT?!?!” THEY MUTTER TO THEMSELVES.

Really, they have no idea what the Rav did or didn’t say, what he did or didn’t intend, what did or didn’t actually happen.

But it takes a lot of humility, it takes a lot of self-awareness about your own limitations to really admit that, doesn’t it?

What’s going on right now is a massive birur process, or clarification procedure.

All of us are being tested, but especially on our arrogance, our emuna, and our emunat tzaddikim, or belief in our true Tzaddikim.

And so, the test of Dumb and Dumber continues.

You can feel the holiness shining off the pages.

That’s what someone told me a couple of days ago, when someone sent me a message about One in a Generation Volume II. I asked their permission to share it more widely, and they kindly gave it. It gave me a lot of chizzuk, as getting Rabbi Berland’s books out has been a lot of hard work, with very little ‘obvious’ success.

For example, we currently have a PR person trying to place a press release about One in a Generation II to tie in with the recent announcement by the Bet Din that all slander about Rabbi Berland has to stop, and that any complaint should be brought straight to them for evaluation.

The news wires rejected it.

But that’s not all, when our PR guy went back to find out what’s going on, they accused him of making up quotes, then insisted he take out any suggestion that any of the charges against Rabbi Berland were fabricated. They also totally refused to link to the video I made setting out the other side of the story.

====

I never heard of anything like this. I asked the PR guy, has this ever happened to you before, on any of the things you’ve ever worked on?

Nope.

Hmm.

So as you can see, getting the real story about Rabbi Berland out there has not been so easy. Which is why I was thrilled to get this email. Every person who reads the books can feel the truth about Rabbi Berland. And I think probably, that’s the biggest reason that so many people out there don’t want to risk pick them up, and why the news wires are shunning our releases. It’s very hard to admit we got something wrong, especially something as significant as this.

But at some point, the truth has to get out there.

I hope.

====

I’m a 42-year old observant Noahide, living in the US.

I’ve been a huge devotee of Rav Arush for a few years now, but it was only a few months ago that I made the connection between the Rav Berland who taught him and the Rav Berland I’d heard the scandal stories about.

I found your blog a few weeks ago, along with ravberland.com. I was curious to know if there had been any major developments in his story since I first heard it a few years ago, and to review R. Arush’s defence of him, which I’d heard of. In the same search session. I read a story by his detractors. They were just so ridiculous and over the top that, even without R. Arush’s testimony, they pretty much destroyed what little credibility they started with.

A week ago, actually it was the early morning of the 4th, I couldn’t sleep. Normally when this happens it’s a big hint to me that I really ought to be talking to HaShem, instead of just lying there like a dingbat. This time I actually did something about it.

I was lying in my hammock in my back yard. I believe I had asked God what the truth was about Rav Berland. Knowing almost nothing about him except that he taught R. Arush, the allegations seemed like the sort of thing that has been known to happen, particularly in other religions.

God made it very clear, very quickly, that this was not the case. Immediately I was seized by an impulse to go back inside and look at your blog. I saw the links for One in a Generation 1 and 2, and was driven to immediately purchase them, almost as if I had no say in the matter.

As I read them both over last week (I wanted to jump straight to two, but it felt righter to get all the background), the holiness of the Rav shone through in your words in a way I’ve never felt. Any tentative feeling of credibility even the slightest claims against the Rav had ever had evaporated like they’d been hit by a supernova.

The holiness of the Rav came through so strongly, in fact, that about halfway through volume 1 something in the text nudged sonething in my soul (I don’t know how else to put it) and I was inspired that there was a connection between the problem I’d been having around my eyes and the mitzvah of guarding one’s eyes, which I’ve never been very much for, sadly.

This week I’ve been really making an effort, averting my eyes from women around my office, saving them for my wife. I can’t even tell you how remarkable the difference us when I look at my wife now with holy (or at least slightly holier) eyes. Well, I’m sure your husband knows all about it. [I’ve also been talking to HaShem a lot more this week, in the light of this experience.]

Thank you very much. I just wanted you to know that, no matter how apparently insignificant the sales figures are, two of them were generated by HaShem Himself, and have brought some real, if small, measure of holiness into the world. You share the merit with Rav Berland in this. Thank you.

There’s an ongoing earthquake swarm at Mount Hood volcano in Oregon.

Three month’s ago, I had a very ‘intense’ dream where a volcano erupted somewhere on the US West coast, and covered everything in a flood of bright orange lava. I’d just finished the draft of the volcanoes book, so maybe that wasn’t so surprising.

I have a feeling that volcano could be Mount Hood.

The last two days, the magma chamber under Mount Hood, in Oregon, has been hit by a swarm of earthquakes. Volcanoes and earthquakes are connected.

Dutchsince is still calling for a third big, 7.5 earthquake to hit California in the next 24 hours. He was on the money with his forecasts for the other two big quakes, the 6.5 and 7.1, so he may well be right. But if a big quake doesn’t hit, then the ‘pressure’ still has to dissipate someway, somehow – which could lead to a volcanic eruption.

Dutchsinse also spotted a massive ‘crack’ in the ground next to an ‘ancient’ volcanic field in California – there’s a two mile long, 100 foot across fissure that’s forming there, and no-one is really talking about it. Take a look at his video, here (Mount Hood stuff starts at the 7 min mark):

====

That massive ‘line’ of numbered white things is all the earthquakes that have struck in the last 24 hours.

Even at the height of Kilauea’s eruption, I never saw the stack get quite that tall – it’s literally off the page.

Remember how the ground ‘fissured’ all over the South West corner of Hawaii’s Big Island, before Kilauea started erupting over there?

Here’s what the USGS says about Mount Hood:

MONITORING FOR THE NEXT ERUPTION

Renewed activity at most volcanoes begins with increasing numbers of earthquakes beneath the volcano as magma moves towards the surface. Since 1977 the University of Washington’s Geophysics Program and the USGS have continuously monitored earthquakes at Mount Hood. Typically, one to three small earthquake swarms (tens to more than one hundred earthquakes lasting 2 to 5 days) occur every year. What scientists are looking for as a sign of renewed activity is for a swarm to persist, for the number of earthquakes to increase dramatically, or for the depths of earthquakes to become shallower. Such signs of reawakening might also be accompanied by changes in composition or temperature of fumarole gases, or by deformation of the volcano’s flanks.

Scientists can generally detect when a volcano becomes “restless,” thereby providing some warning to officials and the public. But they cannot say precisely when an eruption will begin, how big it will be, or how long it will last. Thus, we will all have to confront many uncertainties when Mount Hood reawakens. Recent eruptions around the world reveal that lava-dome eruptions, like those typical of Mount Hood, can begin after weeks to months of restlessness, last for time periods of months to years, and generate tens to hundreds of pyroclastic flows and lahars of varying size. Unfortunately, the end of an eruption doesn’t always mean the end of eruption-related problems. New deposits of rock debris on the volcano’s slopes and in river valleys can be reworked to form lahars for many years after an eruption ends.

====

Mount Hood is very close to Portland, Oregon’s biggest city. Even though it’s 81 miles away, it could trigger lahars (volcanic mud slides), landslides, and earth deformation that could have some serious repercussions for Portland. Far more people die because their communities are flattened by a volcanic mud slide than they do because they got incinerated by a ‘pyroclastic’ flow of super-heated magma.

Here’s a (very amateurish….) simulation of Mount Hood erupting, to give you a flavor:

====

Yah, all those volcanoes are MILLIONS of years old, remember?

None of those hundreds of thousands of volcanoes in North America ever erupted anytime majorly in the last 500,000 years,  in any way, right?

OOOOOKAYYY.

It’s totally not true. ‘Old Age’ of the world stuff totally aside, there are so many accounts from the Native Peoples of the USA of the volcanoes on the continent erupting massively in the last 1,000 years (and in the last 250 years…).

We are in the Grand Solar Minimum that I was talking about back HERE in April, and sure enough, the earthquakes and volcanoes around the planet are going through the roof.

But I tell you why I feel that things are starting to really pick up, and it’s not because of geological signs (although there are thousands of those pouring in every week, that the earth’s crust is simmering away all over the place, including the recent eruption of the Stromboli volcano in Italy, that actually killed a hiker, and the fact that boiling tar was recently bubbling up and out over the pavements of downtown LA.)

Just like ‘Hurricane Harvey’ was ushered in by a despicable, totally immoral Jew on the West Coast, God help us, ‘Volcano Jeffery’ is also being ushered in by a totally despicable, immoral Jew on the East Coast.

I don’t want to talk about this in detail, or link to any of the stories about him, because it’s so painful to the soul to even have to think about this.

But the USA is getting primed to blow because so many of the Jews in the world are up to their necks in the worst immorality and evil – and not just the Jews of America.

‘Volcano Jeffery’ is linked to a whole bunch of yucky people in Israel, too, and all that stuff is about to start leaking out all over the place in the news.

Now, it could be that we’re not quite ready for the lid to blow on all the truly awful people who have been pulling the strings behind the scenes in the State of Israel, and in places like New York and Capitol Hill and Paris, and London, and Bonn, for many long decades.

I don’t want to say too much, still, because I hate all that ‘conspiracy theory’ cack and I don’t want to gee up another round of pointless theorizing.

But IF the timescale set out HERE in the Zohar really is this year, 5779, and IF Moshiach is going to get revealed in a much more obvious way from Tu B’Av, that means that the side of evil has to start crumbling in a much more obvious way, before then.

And ‘Volcano Jeffery’ could be what’s going to finally set this process properly into motion.

Nuff said.

Who are the people who are really preventing the geula from coming the sweet way?

You should know something: I never wanted my blog to be a ‘geula blog’. I have a lot more stuff I like to talk about, and write about, and discuss about, but what can I do? Every time I try to make a mental detour away from geula, God seems to be pulling me right back to it.

And there is so very much happening at the moment, and there are so few ‘geula bloggers’ – or anyone else – really covering what’s happening, because they have painted themselves into an ‘anti Rabbi Berland’ corner, because they believed all the false stories put about in the press.

I can’t help but think about that comment from Kol HaTor, rightly or wrongly attributed to the Vilna Gaon, about how the people with unfixable Erev Rav traits will operate at the end of days, to delay Moshiach and prolong the exile:

In Kol HaTor Chapter 2, Section 2, Letter bet, the Vilna Gaon says the following:

 “The general purpose of the two moshiachs, Moshiach ben Yosef and Moshiach ben David, throughout all the generations has been to protect and fight against the three ‘heads’ of the klipot (evil husks): Eisav, Yishmael and the Erev Rav…..

“….the Erev Rav is our greatest enemy, the one who separates the two moshiachs. The klipah of the Erev Rav works only through deception and roundabout ways. Therefore, the war against the Erev Rav is the most difficult and bitterest of all. We must strengthen ourselves for this war, anyone who does not participate in the battle against the Erev Rav becomes, defacto, a partner with the klipah of the Erev Rav, and was better off not being born in the first place.”

So now, let’s dive off the deep end, and ask the question, ‘What if?’

What if Rabbi Eliezer Berland really is the Moshiach, what then?

(Again, let’s stress before we continue that the Moshiach has an awful lot to do and accomplish before he can unequivocably be recognized as THE Moshiach. He has to fight wars on behalf of the Jewish people – without firing a shot. He has to bring us back to real emuna, belief in Hashem, and Hashem’s mastery of the world.

He has to oversee the ingathering of the exiles, and he has to rebuild the Third Temple. (See this article for more Torah Sources identifying the Moshiach.) That’s a lot to do, and until and unless all of these things have been done, we can only really talk about hezkat Moshiach, i.e. a presumption that someone is a strong contender to potentially be the Moshiach.

====

So now, let’s go back and say, what if Rabbi Eliezer Berland is this ‘hezkat Moshiach’, what then?

How would that fit in with how people with pronounced Erev Rav character traits might react to him? And could their actions and reactions be delaying the geula? And how would that fit together with the Kol HaTor’s warning, above, that:

“[A]nyone who does not participate in the battle against the Erev Rav becomes, defacto, a partner with the klipah of the Erev Rav, and was better off not being born in the first place”?

EREV RAV CHARACTER TRAITS

I’ve set out all this information very clearly in my book, Unlocking the Secret of the Erev Rav, but I think it’s useful to remind ourselves of the way people with Erev Rav character traits act. There are two separate, but overlapping, definitions of ‘Erev Rav’-type people, one as set out by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, and the other by the Vilna Gaon.

Here’s how they describe the Erev Rav:

====

BAALEI MACHLOKET

In addition, there is a tradition from Rabbi Nachman of Breslov that every group of people with pronounced ‘Erev Rav’ characteristics can be fixed, except those people who Rabbenu calls baalei machloket, which literally translates as ‘masters of contention / controversy / scandal / strife’.

Or to put it another way, journalists.

Or to put it in modern media parlance, bloggers, v-loggers, Youtubers, Facebookers, and all those people who like to leave disgusting comments, anonymously, on other people’s posts.

Now, let’s fit in another piece of the puzzle.

====

THE HIDDEN SCROLL, AND THE WAR AGAINST TORAH SCHOLARS

Rabbi Nachman wrote a hidden scroll about what would be at the End of Days, that was passed down within the Breslov community, and most recently was in the possession of the late Rabbi Eliezer Schick, z’tl. In that scroll, Rabbi Nachman made it clear that:

“At first, there will be a huge controversy surrounding Moshiach, and people will say [in astonishment], ‘That’s Moshiach?!’”

(Btw, this whole statement about the Hidden Scroll is set out in One in a Generation, Volume II.)

Writing in his book The Workings of the Tzaddik, Rabbi Eliezer Schick brought down the following about the geula:

“Rav Natan once spoke up about Rebbe Nachman’s Hidden Scroll and said, ‘The war of Gog and Magog is not specifically described in the Hidden Scroll, but what was indicated was that there would be a flood of heresy in the world, and that would be the huge test facing us, and the Moshiach.”

Rabbi Shick continues: “So from this we can learn that every time, in every generation, that we see enormous accusations between the people of Israel, and we see that arrogance is increasing — know! The Moshiach is already ready to reveal himself! It’s only the heresy and the arrogance that is covering him up and concealing him…

The war of Gog and Magog includes all the controversy and accusations that there will be around these same true tzaddikim, who reveal the true will of God, because they [i.e., the arrogant people and mockers] want to devour them alive, may God have mercy.

And they will say every forbidden thing about them [the true tzaddikim] and make fun of them a lot — and by so doing, they will distance the Jewish people from them. And this is what lengthens the bitter exile, may God have mercy. And so I say, woe to them! And woe to the souls of those who have any part in the controversy and the arguments concerning the true tzaddikim, who reveal the true will of God.

For they are the brazen-faced of the generation, those with the face of a dog, the soldiers of Gog and Magog, who conceal the truth, and they are the wicked people of the generation… of whom it’s said: “When you see that he is so brazen-faced it is a proof that he is wicked”, and it’s written in the Midrash (Bamidbar Rabbah 18:10): ‘He who is brazen-faced, and he who is an inveterate sower of strife and hatred —  he is the most wicked of wicked people,’ may God have mercy.”

====

Let’s break this down again, and take it step by step.

In Unlocking the Secret of the Erev Rav, I bring a whole bunch of sources to show that ‘the brazen-faced of the generation’ is always a code-word our Sages use when they are talking about people with unfixable Erev Traits.

So, this is what Rebbe Nachman is really telling us, about what the Erev Rav will do to the Moshiach at the End of Days, to delay the geula (my clarifications are underlined, and in square brackets):

[The Erev Rav] will say every forbidden thing about [Rabbi Eliezer Berland], and make fun of [him and his followers] a lot – and by so doing, they will distance the Jewish people from [Rabbi Eliezer Berland and Shuvu Banim]. And this is what lengthens the bitter exile, may God have mercy.

And so I say, woe to them! And woe to the souls of those who have any part in the controversy and the arguments concerning [Rabbi Eliezer Berland and] the true tzaddikim, who reveal the true will of God.

For [the bloggers, v’loggers, journalists, commentators and writers] are the [Erev Rav] of the generation, those with the face of a dog, the soldiers of Gog and Magog, who conceal the truth, and they are the wicked people of the generation… of whom it’s said: “When you see that he is so brazen-faced it is a proof that he is wicked”, and it’s written in the Midrash (Bamidbar Rabbah 18:10): ‘He who is brazen-faced, and he who is an inveterate sower of strife and hatred —  he is the most wicked of wicked people,’ may God have mercy.”

====

Let’s continue our exploration of ‘What if?’

Let’s go back to what was written in the Kol HaTor, above, to see if we can shine a little more light about what we’re actually being told there, too, about what will happen just before the geula. Again, my clarifications are underlined and in square brackets:

“….the [media] is our greatest enemy, the one who separates the two moshiachs. The klipah of the [anti-Rabbi Berland media, including bloggers, Facebookers, journalists and anonymous commentators] works only through deception and roundabout ways. Therefore, the war against the [media] is the most difficult and bitterest of all. We must strengthen ourselves for this war, anyone who does not participate in the battle against the [anti-Rabbi Berland media] becomes, defacto, a partner with the klipah of the Erev Rav [i.e. the anti-Torah, anti-Moshiach, anti-geula media], and was better off not being born in the first place.”

The Psak Din from the Badatz Beis Din forbidding speaking negatively about Rabbi Berland

Two days ago, a group of three senior rabbis representing the most reputable Beis Dins (Religious Jewish courts) in Israel released a psak din (above) that it is totally forbidden for people to engage in sharing around anymore slanderous stories or negative comments about Rabbi Berland, in any part of the media.

The story of how this Beis Din came to issue that judgment is very interesting.

Rabbi Berland’s main persecutors, aka the Meah Shearim Mafiosos, spent the last two years ‘grooming’ these rabbis in an effort to try to persuade them to excommunicate Rabbi Berland and his community.

Two weeks ago, Rabbi Berland was summoned to come before the Beis Din – and everyone who knew about this held their breath, waiting for yet another hammer to fall on the head of decency and truth. Instead, the Beis Din issued this statement.

For sure, the Meah Shearim Mafiosos are already working furiously behind the scenes with their usual violent threats of retribution, which normally boil down to the same tactics of threatening to go to the media with more baseless allegations against anyone who doesn’t immediately bend over backwards and give them what they want.

Because the [Erev Rav] media in Israel is known to be so anti-Torah, and because they are happy to make up and embellish any lie against the Torah community here, however outlandish and ridiculous, this threat has silenced literally tens of even the most senior rabbis here in Israel.

These rabbis know all too well that their reputations and institutions will be immediately ruined by the salacious headlines everyone is reading in the [Erev Rav] media – regardless of whether they are true.

Again, let’s just remind ourselves what the Kol HaTor said:

“[A]nyone who does not participate in the battle against the [anti-Torah, anti-God media] becomes, defacto, a partner with the klipah of the [the anti-Torah, anti-Moshiach, anti-geula media], and was better off not being born in the first place.”

====

In the meantime, this stunning psak din was handed down by the Badatz Beis Din, together with a request that it should be publicized in all the Torah publications and news sites – and for the first 24 hours, NONE OF THEM TOUCHED IT WITH A BARGE POLE.

None of these same ‘haredi’ media sites who have been spreading scandal and slander about Rabbi Berland and Shuvu Banim non-stop for years wanted their readers to see this psak din.

Interesting, no?

Eventually, matzav.com and yeshivaworldnews did stick something up, but YWN stuck it together with the same rehash of many of the lies they like to keep regurgitating about the Rav, in total disregard of the Badatz psak din they just posted up.

So much for the ‘haredi’ media – and let’s not even talk about the secular media, who for sure won’t touch this story with a barge pole.

But what about us? What about us, dear reader? What about the blogs we read, and the comments we post, the Facebook friends we have, the groups we sit in online, and share our thoughts with?

What about us?

====

Let’s return to that question of ‘What if?’

What if Rabbi Berland really is hezkat Moshiach? What have we been doing, or writing, or sharing, or believing about this subject, and what side of the fence does that put us on?

What if we’re a blogger who re-hashed all the lies being told by the [Erev Rav] media?

What if we’re a commentator who said disgusting things about [the possible Moshiach] Rabbi Berland?

What if we’re now refusing to read, or share, or accept all the many positive stories and pieces of information that are increasingly coming to light about [the possible Moshiach] Rabbi Berland?

How could all of these things be delaying the geula?

Again, let’s remind ourselves of what the Kol HaTor wrote:

“[A]nyone who does not participate in the battle against the [anti-Torah, anti-God media] becomes, defacto, a partner with the klipah of the [the anti-Torah, anti-Moshiach, anti-geula media], and was better off not being born in the first place.”

And let’s remind ourselves of what Rebbe Nachman’s Hidden Scroll told us:

[The Erev Rav] will say every forbidden thing about [Rabbi Eliezer Berland], and make fun of [him and his followers] a lot – and by so doing, they will distance the Jewish people from [Rabbi Eliezer Berland and Shuvu Banim]. And this is what lengthens the bitter exile, may God have mercy.

====

Do you really want Moshiach? Really?

Do you really want to have a good chance of ‘making it’ through to geula, whatever that means, and not going down the pipes to perdition along with the other unfixable ‘Erev Rav’ types?

Way back when all this began, Rabbi Chaim Dovid Stern told us very clearly, that the last test before Moshiach came was the test of Rabbi Eliezer Berland.

And now, with the above clarifications, we can start to see why this is. IF Rabbi Berland could be the Moshiach, then the people who speak against him, the people who suppress all the good stories, and good information about him, the people who are using their ‘media presence’ to go against him, or to prevent his light from reaching more people – they are the ones who are preventing the geula with their own hands.

And they’re going against Hashem’s anointed. And they appear to be the unfixable ‘Erev Rav’ types our Sages warned us about, who would use all sorts of back-handed ways to fight against the Moshiach and delay the geula.

And if we don’t fight against these people with all our might – then we’d be better off not being born in the first place.

And that’s a very sobering thought, isn’t it?

The Jewish media outlets are creating more anti-Semites every day.

In a year’s time, or two years’ time, or ten years’ time – however long it’s going to take for this current, horrible period of time to come to its apex and lead to whatever it’s going to lead to, we’ll look back and wonder: “why did things have to happen this way? Why did the anti-Semites have to come roaring back, the way they did?”

Just like people did with the holocaust, a few years after the inferno had erupted and engulfed 6 million Jews, people sat there incredulous, angry at God, wondering: “why did it have to happen like that?”

Why couldn’t God have just bought all the Jews back to the land of Israel, without that awful precursor, without all that death and destruction, without all that terrible, anti-Semitism?

I also used to wonder these things. But increasingly, I’m starting to see how so much of the destruction happened because we brought it upon ourselves.

And I’m increasingly concerned that history is about to repeat it itself.

====

A few days’ ago, a ‘pro-Rabbi Berland’ reader sent me a couple of new ‘shocking videos’ that are now doing the rounds.

In one, you can see Rabbi Berland repeatedly slapping one of his followers, at an event that happened in Eilat a few months ago. Again, the disgusting YeshivaWorldNews made sure to upload this video with a nice heaping dose of derision and slander as their official ‘comment’ on it, and then they sent it out to the world at large, on their Instagram account, to encourage more anti-semitism.

In the second, Rabbi Berland appears to be comparing a woman to a donkey – which is actually part of a Torah lesson that was being taught based on the Midrash and Talmud.

First, let’s deal with what happened. Here’s what I emailed my reader about these two ‘shocking videos’:

“The first one, where the Rav is hitting someone in Eilat, it certainly looks shocking if people aren’t aware of the concept of tzaddikim taking off harsh judgments in this way.

My husband got slapped in the face twice by Rav Arush just before Rosh Hashana in Uman a few years ago – and he was very  happy that happened, because he instantly felt the ‘din’ (harsh judgment) lift off of him.

There’s also so many videos of Rav Ovadia slapping people in the face – even Bibi – and the Baba Sali has many, many stories of slapping people harshly to ‘mitigate judgments’. There is probably way more to add to this, but I haven’t begun to research this properly, and this is what came to mind.”

(If you understand Hebrew, Rabbi Yaakov Selma dealt with this episode in detail a few months ago, and you can see his comments and video below:)

And here is the video of Rav Ovadia publically slapping Bibi – the Prime Minister of Israel! – in the face, from many years ago.

====

Now, let’s deal with the ‘shocking’ women-are-donkeys statement.

Here’s what I emailed my correspondent about that:

“The second clip is part of a Torah class the Rav is giving over on the Gemara or on a Midrash. It’s not clear from the context exactly which Tractate etc, but it could be Kiddushin (see 68a, where slaves are referred to as ‘donkey-like / ass-like people. Also in the Midrash, Bereishit Rabbah 56:2, Hagar, Sarah’s handmaid, is compared to a donkey.)

I finished up with this:

“What are we to do, that there are many things that sound ‘weird’ or not PC in our tradition? The non-Jews who are against circumcision are also doing this, and the Reform who keep going on about the status of women in ‘rabbinic’ Judaism are also doing this.

This is not a new thing – the Nazis were also adept at taking quotes out of the Talmud, to demonise the Jews as a people, and so did – (and are still doing…) the xtians.

But what’s awful is that it’s supposedly ‘frum’ Jews who are doing this stuff – and they are playing with awful fire. The video you sent me from YWN’s Instagram account showed up in the search engines next to other ‘suggestions’ for videos which was basically the worst anti-Semitic propaganda about what Rabbis do to small, defence-less babies at a brit milah – ‘slashing’ without anaesthetic, and all the stuff about the two stages of performing a proper brit.

Yeshiva World News is keeping company with very evil people in this matter, and I greatly fear how it’s going to rebound on the Jewish people, particularly abroad.”

====

How the Nazis (ab)used the Talmud

Did you know that the Nazis’ main ‘thinker’, Alfred Rosenberg, wrote and published a whole booklet in 1920, called “Lack of Morality in the Talmud”?

He quoted tens of things from the Shulchan Aruch and the Talmud to ‘prove’ how morally degenerate the Jewish people actually are – and it was so popular, he had it reprinted in the 1930s, as part of the Nazi attempt to dehumanize the Jews.

And of course, the xtians and the Church were pulling the same stunt for centuries, pulling different snippets of ‘offensive’ statements out of Jewish holy works to ‘prove’ how degenerate the Rabbis were (God forbid), and by extension, how disgusting the Jews – and all their ‘weird’ practices – are.

We like to think that all that old-fashioned, Jew-killing anti-Semitism couldn’t happen today.

But make no mistake, it’s back – and back with a vengeance, even in places like ‘safe’ America. Here’s what my correspondent emailed me back with:

“Abroad: I would say unfortunately crazy enough. Not a day goes by you don’t hear a new story of anti-Semitism. The comments on FaceBook Group pages and the daily local papers and radio stations in New Jersey are through the roof.

Pure illogical, irrational hate like I have not experienced before. Just simply double standard judgment against Jews in droves totally one-sided and not fair.”

====

Ask any Jew abroad right now, even the totally secular, ‘irreligious’ ones who apparently left the fold a long, long time ago, and they will all tell you that they can feel the anti-Semitism in the air.

I’m hearing that all the time from the UK, I’m hearing it from France, I’m hearing it from the USA.

Anti-semitism is going through the roof. Anti-semites are pouring out of the cracks all over the world.

And do you know who is to blame for all this?

The Jews.

And especially, the Jewish media.

Do the evil retards who run YWN not realize that non-Jews make no distinction between a Breslov chassid, a Breslov Rebbe, and any other Jew in black-and-white, who wears a kippa, beard or no beard?

They’re there, making every effort they can to try to make Rabbi Berland and Breslov out to be a bunch of crazy, psychotic lunatics and ‘cult members’ – and who is lapping that message up, along with the 4 orthodox Jews who still actually take that site seriously?

Yup. You got it.

The non-Jews. The anti-Semites. The non-Jewish people living in Lakewood, and Ocean County who are very upset with their orthodox Jewish neighbors.

How do I know this? The Yeshiva World News itself is telling me that!  Here‘s a screenshot from a  recent story it ran about hate comments from anti-Semites in Ocean County:

Screenshot of Yeshiva World News coverage of anti semitic comments on Facebook

That last comments reads: “Slap on the hand and released back to the cult!”

And here’s a screenshot of the YWN comment next to their post on Rabbi Berland:

Screenshot of YWN Instagram account calling Rav Berland's Shuvu Banim a cult

The YWN comment reads: “Cult members will naturally find an excuse for this by saying “he was punching the Yetzer Hara put of this man”, or he has a dibuk that needed removal and some other beauty response. Any insane behavior is justified in a cult.” (All spelling errors are in the original – it’s bad journalism all the way around….)

Surely, it’s obvious where this problem is coming from?

To anti-Semites,  a Jew, is a Jew, is a Jew. Try telling them that the only ‘crazy, bad’ orthodox Jewish people are Breslov, or that only Breslov is a ‘cult’.

So great own goal, Yeshiva World News! Goebbels would be so proud.

And of course, that’s also happening here in Israel in droves, too.

The secular, rabidly ‘anti’ religious press and politicians and ‘enlightened’ big thinkers positively delight in painting the worst possible picture they can of authentic Judaism and orthodox Jews.

They go on and on about how haredi Jews are ‘parasites’, and how orthodox Jewish rabbis in Israel are completely crooked and corrupt, and how the orthodox Jewish community – with their archaic, barbaric, primitive Torah practices – is just one, big massive ‘burden’ that the secular Jews in Israel are sick and tired of schlepping around and dealing with.

Could a non-Jewish anti-Semite phrase it any better?

When places like Ynetnews and Channel 2, and Channel 10, air story after story – often with totally falsified information, designed to manipulate their viewers to hating haredi Jews even more than before!!! – they think they are scoring some sort of massive ‘victory’ against religious Jews.

Really?

They are handing the anti-Semites more propaganda, more fodder, on a plate.

Or to use a more appropriate analogy, they are filling up a rhetorical machine gun with ‘anti-Semitic’ bullets that the non-Jews are going to hold against the head of every single Jew in the world.

Do you think the non-Jews care, that ‘Mr Secular Tel Aviv’ doesn’t have a beard, and doesn’t fast on Yom Kippur, and hates the settlements, and wants to marry his dog? Do you think his extreme hatred of religious Jews and the Torah makes that guy any less Jewish, to Hamas, or Hezbollah, or a neo-Nazi?

Again, we don’t have to go far back in history to see an awful parallel with all the assimilated Jews in Europe, who were convinced that Berlin was the New Jerusalem. But marrying out didn’t save them Hitler, converting to xtianity didn’t save them from Hitler, having lots of money, and status, and five university degrees didn’t save them from Hitler.

Throwing other Jews under a bus – especially their orthodox brethren – didn’t save them from Hitler. If anything, it only encouraged him.

==

So let’s return to 2019, and let’s see what’s really unfolding before our eyes.

The hate against Jews is rippling out in concentric circles.

At its heart, Rabbi Berland, the Gadol HaDor, who was stitched-up by an unholy alliance of ‘Shuvu Banim-hating’ Breslovers in Meah Shearim, and ‘Breslov-hating’ haredi journalists on sites like Yeshiva World News and Kikar HaShabbat (which btw is half-owned by Ynet….); and ‘Haredi-hating’ secular journalists, politicians, judges and policemen in Israel.

And all those people think they are scoring massive points, by continuing to fabricate and publicize new scandals against him, and new ‘shocking’ videos.

Then what happens?

All that stuff gets sent to the end of the world and back by the internet, and the anti-Semites wake up, and now, they are giving all these ‘haters’ a dose of their own medicine.

It’s the midda keneged midda principle in action.

God is behind all this, because He’s so sick of what’s going on. He’s sick of all these ‘Jewish anti-semites’ of every stripe, who are encouraging their readers and viewers to hate other groups of Jews.

All those ‘anti’ haredi Israeli Jews who just lurrrrve all the negative, fake news stories being splashed around the press here – don’t you realise the anti-semites and the BDS brigade are doing exactly the same thing to you (to us!) in their biased and distorted coverage of Israel?

All those ‘anti’ orthodox reform Jews in the US, who just lurrrrve trying to poke holes in the Torah and in the Talmud and in ‘Rabbinic’ Judaism – and who are riding high on their ‘political correctness’ and ‘enlightened egalitarianism’ – do you really think the anti-semites think you are whiter than white?

Was Bernie Madoff an ‘orthodox’ Jew? Was Harvey Weinstein? Or all the countless other secular Jews whose bad behavior has hit the headlines again and again and again in the secular press?

All those anti-Breslov, and / or anti-Israel haredi Jews in Lakewood, and Monsey and Williamsburg – don’t you realise that every time you speak badly of Israel and your fellow Jews, you are giving the anti-Semites more spiritual ammunition to turn against yourselves and your communities?

====

Let’s end with this.

All the scandal and slander and ‘opinion pieces’ tearing down our fellow Jews that’s being churned out en masse by the Jewish media, it’s all being read by the anti-Semites, too.

Those anti-Semites don’t slice the divisions between the different sectors of the Jewish people anywhere near as finely as we ourselves do. They don’t differentiate between this Jew who wears a kippah, and that Jew who doesn’t. Or this Jew who is ‘egalitarian’, and that Jew who isn’t. Or this Jew who works in hi-tech, and that Jew who studies Torah.

To them, a Jew is a Jew is a Jew.

And every negative word that comes out of our mouths accusing different groups of Jews of being ‘evil’, and ‘corrupt’, and ‘cultish’, and ‘perverted’ – and all the rest of it – it’s just giving more ammunition and more motivation to the anti-Semites.

So, Ynet, and Yeshiva World News and Kikar HaShabbat please think twice before continuing to slander and demonise a holy Jew, or a holy group of Jews. The anti-Semites are watching, and waiting in the wings. And whatever fake news you churn out about Rabbi Berland, that’s exactly what they are going to use to justify their attacks on the rest of the Jewish world.

And you will have caused the destruction that’s looming in the distance with your own two hands.
